Dear Parents/Carers,
Firstly, I hope you and your families are well in these unprecedented times and are staying safe. We at Joseph Leckie Academy, anticipate that your child may be little nervous or a little unsure about starting secondary school in September. Rest assured there is nothing to worry about, as we are all in this together. We are really looking forward to meeting both you and your child when it is safe to do so.
My name is Miss Ravat and I will be overseeing Transition this academic year. I believe that the notion of care is to provide every child with the opportunity to be successful and a personal approach to their individual learning needs to ensure that ‘no child is left behind’. At Joseph Leckie, we aim to provide your child with a fulfilling and enjoyable learning experience, which will enable them to gain excellent qualifications and explore a range of different extracurricular opportunities via our ‘House System’.
I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce you to your child's Head of Year, Miss Simmonds. Miss Simmonds will be your child’s first port of call regarding their general wellbeing and will be in touch soon.
The Academy staff are currently working really hard to design a range of different activities for your child to enable them to have a smooth transition from primary. Please keep visiting this page or our social media page for the latest updates.
