Entry Requirements
'Minimum of 5, 9 -5 Grades at GCSE or equivalent with English and maths. Grade 6 or equivalent in your chosen study subject is preferred.
Course Description
Students will study the following:
- Further Mechanics and Thermal Physics
- Fields and their Consequences
- Nuclear Physics
Plus one from the following options:
- Astrophysics
- Medical Physics
- Engineering Physics
- Turning Points in Physics
- Electronics
Assessment
The course will be assessed via three written papers including relevant practical skills:
Paper 1: 2 hours long consisting of 85 marks (60 marks: Short and long answer questions and 25 marks: Multiple choice questions).
Paper 2: 2 hours long consisting of 85 marks(60 marks: Short and long answer questions and 25 marks: Multiple choice questions).
Paper 3: 2 hours long consisting of 80 marks (45 marks: short and long answer questions on practical and data analysis and 35 marks: short and long answer questions on the option unit).
