Sixth Form Dress Code

Our sixth form students are role models for Joseph Leckie Academy and as such should be smartly presented at all times. Standards in our dress code reflect our high expectations in all aspects of student life.

It is a Sixth Form privilege not to wear a school uniform. The school expects that you will dress suitably and avoid extremes of fashion. Many outsiders judge the school by the appearance of its Sixth Formers and younger students look to the Sixth Form students as role models. The student body has recently engaged in a focus group with senior staff to refresh the uniform policy. Therefore, the below is a result of student and staff collaboration to make uniform more diverse and comfortable for our students.

The dress code is reviewed annually and the following has been approved for the academic year 2024-2025 and is currently in effect from 1st September 2024. These requirements below are not exhaustive in defining acceptable and unacceptable standards of dress and appearance, and we also reserve the right to adapt the policy with notice. Therefore, students should consult with their Head of Year in advance of wearing any item of which they are unsure of.

Lanyard’s should be worn at all times on school site due to Health and safety and security measure within the academy
